Posted on December 16, 2022

After several meetings and discussions between the President of the Australia Myanmar Institute for Democracy, Human Rights and Peace and the President of AMICUS Global Inc, both organizations have agreed to collaborate. The aim is to strengthen AMIDHRP-AMICUS Global Inc through project management and to promote multiculturalism and cooperation between the two organizations through the exchange of ideas and initiating strategic cooperation between the two organizations.

The meeting started at 6.30 pm on 15 December 2022 at the Public Schools Club, East Terrace, Adelaide chaired by Dennis Coleman, President of the AMICUS Global Inc Executive Board. Dennis noted the importance of the meeting and then introduced everyone around the room.

This is the first official meeting between AMIDHRP and AMICUS Global Inc on developing ideas regarding collaboration to organize a joint event between AMIDHRP and AMICUS Global Inc possibly in February through to Autumn next year 2023.

The Directors also met with Alexander Kitingan, The Honorary Consul of Malaysia in South Australia, Pamela Rajkowski OAM, and different stakeholders and international organizations working in the areas of humanitarian issues and development, who encouraged the "Institute" to continue our mission to restore democracy in Myanmar and to help refugees in Thailand, India, Malaysia, and Myanmar (TIMM).

The joint AMIDHRP and AMICUS Global Inc, although not having a joint decision-making capacity, will consider matters of mutual interest and may make subsequent recommendations, as appropriate, to the respective Executive Boards for their consideration and possible action. These recommendations will relate to fields of action common to the two organizations and will draw the attention of the two Executive Boards to important new challenges and trends in these areas.
