Our Constitution and registration as a Company with Australian Securities and Investment Commission- ASIC and Charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commission - ACNC provide the credentials to operate in the following three fields of endeavour:
The Institute has devised six main elements of its Core Business based on the following Services Plan. Some services are more developed such as Media Services and other are still in the development stage. The International sphere of Services are directed towards the people of Myanmar and those in refugee camps in the border nations of Thailand and India. What may be described as “Local” Services are directed towards the Myanmar diaspora in South Australia, all other states, and territories but more particularly in Adelaide and Mt Gambier. The following is a list of initiatives that we have to guide our fund-raising Program:
We have raised funds which in the first instance have been needed to establish the Institute but are planned to be distributed through our Program of operations. We have operated numerous Sausage Sizzle events and have supported various food fairs as organised by multicultural organisations in Adelaide.
We regularly bring the multicultural community together through Sausage sizzle, Food Fairs and have plans to run music concerts, car boot sales and kahoot quiz nights. Most Events have a fund-raising focus.
We connect the community with Government Services through our expertise and provision of advice at our Help-Hub in the fields of Education, Visas and Citizenship, Health, Housing and Employment. For example, in the field of Education we would provide Education pathways advice/information and useful links to education Institutions including IELTS advice and training. In the field of Visas and Citizenship applications we would provide general advice/information with links to relevant government departments and other agencies.
We are currently developing a program in this field initial suggestions have pointed towards our Program of Bridging Services such that the Myanmar community may better access government and other agency services.
We have established media services to keep the Myanmar community informed both locally and internationally through Media Releases, Speeches at Rallies and gatherings, Research Articles, Publications, including an Images Gallery. These links are supported through our Website and Facebook Page and Group.
To support our Program of Services and increase our Institute’s capacity to operate effectively we have canvased and will apply for funds from Australian and State and Territory governments as well as local Councils. International Organisations and Philanthropic funding organisations, groups and foundations will also be investigated.
Our aim is to work with recognised national Organisations such as the United Nations, the Red Cross, Medicine San Frontier and the like to auspice funds to Projects in Myanmar that we believe need aid. In particular in Health and Education. The wider areas of the UN Sustainable Development Goals SDG’s which are recognised in our constitution provided us with a focus on the wide range of support that a country like Myanmar needs.
Making a donation is the ultimate sign of solidarity. Actions speak louder than words.
