Kingsley Wilson-Head

Director - Secretary

Kingsley Wilson-Head is an inaugural Director and the Secretary of the Australia Myanmar Institute for Democracy, Human Rights and Peace-AMIDHRP.  He is a retired educator/academic, having worked for the Education Department of SA, Catholic Education, the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and Tabor Adelaide. In that time, he served in various teaching and administrative roles and was involved in a range of professional associations.  These include the South Australian Certificate of Education -SACE-Board; the Australian Geography Teachers Association of SA-GTASA; the Australian Geography Teachers AGTA and the Australian Education Union-AEU- (SA Branch).

His experiences include Conference management and Presentations and broad experiences as the Publication Manager for the GTASA and as an editor and writer for the education publisher Jacaranda Wiley.  He has also served on the Council of Governors, Scotch College.

His business experiences are in the Tourism Industry as a Director and CEO of Kalyra Travel Pty. Ltd. as a principal operator of Australia wide and international tours.

He has been instrumental in developing the humanitarian aims, mission and Policy of the AMIDHRP.  The policy has a focus on persuading decision-makers and government leaders to act in the interests of vulnerable people, and with full respect for fundamental humanitarian principles.

As Secretary of AMIDHRP, he works actively in liaising with Federal and State and Local government departments/councils responsible for the development of aid programs as well as our Affiliated organisations throughout Australia.  He has delivered speeches at Rallies and managed Fund-Raising Events and more recently has been developing Applications for Government Grants that focus on both Australia wide and Overseas Aid Programs.

He is a graduate of the University of Adelaide and the University of SA having a Masters Degree in Education-Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages -TESOL and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in the Social Sciences.
