4 deaths by hanging in a Myanmar prison is WRONG totally Wrong. Political prisoners, good people, executed for what gain I ask you? NONE. Just a show of how bad the Tatmadaw and General Min Ow Lie and his corrupt government is.
This action by what amounts to war criminals is the committing of crimes against humanity. Crimes by the junta against their own people. The perpetrators will in the end be punished because what they have done is completely discrediting the rule of law and justice in Myanmar.
To die fighting for your country, as many in the civil disobedience movement and recent armed fighting against the Junta across Myanmar have done is one thing but to hang a person for political reasons is a disgrace to all humanity as these people were freedom fighters. They are now martyrs, and their names will be remembered and honoured by all long after the Junta and its leaders are gone.
Lessons of history about dictators and juntas I spoke to you about at a Rally last year. I repeat that no dictator and the military they control has ever defeated the will of the people. The people are many and they are few. The army will turn against these corrupt leaders in the end as justice and truth always prevails through the will of the people.
I say keep up the fight in Myanmar and also ask for governments and organisations to help defeat the Junta. I know that the Myanmar diaspora around the world is voting for the just cause of democracy in Myanmar as I have frequent media contacts with them.
Also, recent media releases show the condemnation of the execution of the 4 activists. The Australian government, the UN, ASEAN, many humanitarian organisations such as ours have shown their support for the true cause of democracy with renewed cries for sanctions and the UN to act.
I say to you and the people of Myanmar keep up the fight and never lose hope in your struggle to regain democracy in Myanmar. In the end you will win.
