The Australia Myanmar Institute for Democracy, Human Rights and Peace endorses and offers its support to the Government of National Unity of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar - NUG.
As an independent Not-for-Profit organisation, based in Australia, we have examined the past, present and future threats to democracy and human rights in Myanmar and seek to offer assistance, and advice services to the people, leaders of the CDM and NUG in Myanmar. Our Committee has over 10,300 Group members and has reached out to up to 1.2 million people through our media posts in Myanmar and the Myanmar diaspora communities around the world.
The Australia Myanmar Institute for Democracy, Human Rights and Peace pledges to support the newly formed, National Unity Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar as an initiative of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) to restore democracy. We have also shown in our media coverage the evils of the military junta and the ongoing deadly force they are using against the civilians of Myanmar.
We comprehend the gravity of the problems faced by, and the difficulty of the work to be completed by the NUG in the transition period to overcome the military junta and re-establish democracy and peace in Myanmar.
We are confident that the problems are temporary and can be dealt with and overcome with the support of people from all aspects of society, ethnic backgrounds, genders, and sexual orientations. We bear witness to the CDM and armed resistance groups of the Federal Army in the fight for democracy, human rights, and justice.
We shall continue to focus on the most relevant and pressing issues, including among others human rights, the fight against corruption, the independence of the judiciary, and the development of a free and competitive economy.
The Australia Myanmar Institute for Democracy, Human Rights and Peace main aim is to promote democracy and protect human rights in Myanmar, such that law and order and peace can be restored. To this end we have through our social media services provided an up-to-date news service in English and Myanmar script to the people of Myanmar who have highly restricted internet and local Media/News services and we are developing a website to further enhance our broadcasting capabilities
The Australia Myanmar Institute for Democracy, Human Rights and Peace conveys to the newly formed NUG its best wishes for success in view of the challenges ahead and our dedication to the common cause we share to see the return of democracy and peace to Myanmar. We stand with the National Unity Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in their efforts to overcome the existing challenges and shall remain committed to the core principles and common agenda elements that we share.
